Tournament Ad & Sponsorship Information
The 2008 Charleston United Soccer Shootout Sponsorship Form is now available. Please take the time to open it, print some copies, and then go see the people you do business with. Let them know you will have about 1500 Parents and kids in Charleston on February 23-24, 2008 and if they want to see some of their money enter their business, they need to get on board with us and become a sponsor.
All ads need to come through Andy Grist, Director of Coaching. We prefer electronic files be emailed to Andy but if you don't have the business card or image in an electronic version, you can mail your ad to Andy at P.O Box 30995, Charleston SC, 29417.

Please write fundraiser and tournament or newletter ad and your child's name on the "For_______" line of the check so we can credit these appropriately.
Corporate Funding
If you find a company or organization that would like to sponsor CUSC or one of our teams please contact Lotta Bentley, our fundraising director, about corporate sponsorships (granholm@musc.edu).
Inkjet Recycling
We are working with freerecycling.com regarding InkJet recycling. This is an easy way to raise money and at the same time do good for the environment.
- The team managers have forms that tell you which cartridges can be sent in.
- Wrap each cartridge individually in news paper, put them all in a plastic bag and write player name and team name on it.
- Return the forms and cartridges to Lotta Bentley or to your team manager
- If you would like to send them in yourselves, there are free shipping labels on their website and be sure to state clearly the CUSC customer number in all interactions with the company: 16265! We are registered under Ann-Charlotte Bentley, CUSC, and this customer number (16265).
Sell Your Old Books
This is an easy, no cost way to clear your house of some of the old books you have laying around and make money for the team at the same time. Essentially, the Blue Rectangle group will pay you for shipping them your used books (in good condition) AND will pay for shipping the books to them. Click here for more info
What to do?
- Collect old books using the guidelines below
- Go to www.bluerectangle.com and login in using the following email address and
password- commdirector@charlestonunitedsoccer.net
- password: soccerfun
- Enter the ISBN (a 10-digit number unique to each book found on the back of the book next to the bar code or behind the title page) of all your book and print out/save the postage and payment info
- Email Lotta Bentley, our fundraising director (granholm@musc.edu).
- Mail the books in (within 5 days)
- The check will be mailed directly to CUSC
Shopping a Food Lion
LionShop & Share is an easy, convenient way for Charleston United Soccer Club to raise money. As a non-profit organization, CUSC qualifies as a participating organization.
How does the program work?
LionShop & Share works as follows: each time a club member shops at a Food Lion store and use their Food Lion MVP Card, a portion of your total grocery purchase will be donated to Charleston United Soccer Club.
How do you sign up for the program?
Registration may be performed on-line at www.foodlion.com or via telephone at 1-704-633-8250 ext. 3810, Monday—Friday, 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM ET. If registering via telephone, follow instructions as prompted by the automated service.
- To register, go on-line and enter the official Food Lion website at www.foodlion.com and go to the website directory on the left side of the web page.
- Locate the “In the Community” section and click on the Fundraising LionShop & Share link. That link will take you to the Food Lion “LionShop & Share” page.
- Then look to the left side of the LionShop & Share page and click on the Register MVP Cards link.
- Once at the registration page you will be prompted to select the Organization Name from the pull down menu once you click on the Organization Name button.
- You will need to select the State, City, and Organization Name for the pull down menus for each.
- Then click on the Add MVP Cards button which will open the Register Multiple MVP Cards page.
- Fill out the information as instructed pertaining to your MVP card information and then click next to complete the registration process.
What can the club earn?
At the end of each quarter Food Lion will divide the Funds proportionally among the LionShop & Share organizations depending on their total accumulated sales. Then, Food Lion will issue check to Charleston United Soccer Club approximately six weeks after the quarter ends. In order to receive a check, our organization must earn a minimum of $10.
The maximum that our organization can earn in one quarter is $350.

Shopping at Piggly Wiggly
Charleston United Soccer Club has enrolled in the Piggly Wiggly/Greenbax Charity Program. Please read the following information and go to www.thepig.com on-line and then to the fundraising section to start your donations today. The Greenbax program is listed on the left side of this website. Follow instructions to register. Please sign up today in order to
start collecting those Greenbax Stamps to be designated to Charleston United Soccer Club.
To designate the amount of either your current and/or future Greenbax, go to
greenbax.net and follow the instructions. Donation of your Greenbax is easy. As noted above, you can donate a specific amount of your Greenbax or donate all of your Greenbax current and future. Donations of a specific
amount are made immediately. Donations of future earned Greenbax are made once daily. The website provides easy to follow instructions to get you started today.
If you do not have a Piggly Wiggly/Greenbax PFC Card, please go to you nearest Piggly Wiggly or go to www.thepig.com to sign up for your PFC/Greenbax Card. Remember, this is easy and requires only a few moments of your time to designate your Greenbax to Charleston United Soccer Club and it won’t be long before we see the benefits.
CUSC Car Magnets and other CUSC Merchandise
CUSC is currently selling car magnets with the Charleston United logo. Email Lotta Bentley to get your magnetic source of club pride today! The magnets are selling for $7.50 each. All club members should be proud to place one on their car, and they are a wonderful way to advertise our club. The proceeds benefit CUSC so we would appreciate your help.
